Edelman Ireland launched the Ireland Trust Barometer yesterday morning with an audience of Ireland’s leading business people, media leaders and government officials. Edelman Ireland’s Managing Director Joe Carmody presented the 2016 findings, followed by his Excellency, Dominick Chilcott, British Ambassador to Ireland, who discussed the role of trust in the UK EU Referendum and in the relationship between Ireland and the UK.

The event concluded with a panel discussion and audience Q&A session with Ambassador Chilchott, Robert Watt, Secretary General of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, Shane Coleman, Political Editor Newstalk and Dearbhail McDonald, Associate Editor and Legal Editor of the Irish Independent. The panel discussed the trust barometer findings, the future of media, Ireland’s new lobbying legislation, the forthcoming Irish general election and the implications of the UK leaving the EU.
