Sustainability & Reporting

Two thirds of Irish respondents (67%) to the 2009 Edelman Trust Barometer said that they believe business should step up to partner with Government on addressing issues like energy costs and global warming. This statistic helps demonstrate the extent to which public expectation in the area of sustainability has evolved.

Edelman has worked with businesses and Government organisations in the area of sustainability for over ten years and has been at the coalface of this evolution. We have witnessed first hand how the sustainability agenda in Ireland has been transformed over the past decade. Our consultants have a deep understanding of the factors influencing this transformation and the insights that can help organisations plan and implement communications strategies that will help them achieve their objectives in an increasingly sustainability focused world.

Our past experience includes:

  • The ‘Power of One’ campaign
  • The British Council in Ireland’s ‘Challenge Europe’ Climate Change Initiative
  • Sustainable Energy Ireland
  • Launch of Musgrave Group’s Sustainability Report
  • European Commission’s ‘You Control Climate Change’ Campaign

Edelman’s experience in the area of sustainability also extends to how we manage our own behaviour in our office. In 2007 we implemented a sustainability programme aimed at cutting our energy, water and paper use while increasing levels of recycling and minimising our overall waste output. Today Edelman’s Dublin office participates in the company’s global environmental programme which coordinates approaches to sustainability and champions best practice throughout the network.
